Looking for a loveable and loyal doggy?, here’s a list of the most protective dog breeds in the world
All Dogs in general are thought of as loyal and protective guardians to their human family. While most dogs will stay & protect, some breeds were originally bred for some type of protection work, making them the most protective dogs in the world.
Here are 5 of those breeds. If you are considering one of these breeds, remember they must be properly socialized early on in order to be okay later in life with people outside of their family.

5: Bullmastiff
This breed had an unusual beginning. They were bred to keep large estates free of poachers by tracking and pinning without causing them harm. A silent guardian, they are known to be fearless and confident.

4: Great Pyrenees
Although bred as a livestock (mostly sheep) protection animal, the Pyrenees make a great protection and alert dog for any house. This also means he is very vocal and barks a lot. Keep this in mind when deciding if one is right for you.

3: Doberman Pinscher
The big Doberman makes a great protection dog. After all, he was bred to be a personal guardian. Like the Pyrenees, he also makes a great alert dog, not as vocal but let’s others know he is there protecting and guarding.

2: Greater Swiss Mountain Dog
The Swiss mountain dog was bred in Switzerland as an all round farm dog, including draft work, herding, and guarding, the swiss makes a great watchdog also. They will protect anything on their property from harm.

1: German Shepherd
The great German Shepherd also known as an “Alsatian” in the UK, is bred for tending (a type of herding where the dog travels the border to keep the flock in the right place), the German shepherd has also become a natural guardian of whatever he sees as his “border” (i.e. your property). You can feel safe at night knowing your shepherd is on watch.
